Should You Burn Candles In Your Bedroom?

Your bedroom is your safe space where you can truly relax and unwind. So, it's natural to want to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere in your room, and candles can help you do just that. But before you light that wick, here’s what you need to know before burning candles in your bedroom.

Choose the right candle

When it comes to candles, quality matters. Look for candles made from natural ingredients, like soy or beeswax, and avoid candles with synthetic fragrances. These can release harmful chemicals when burned.

Place it in the right spot

The best place to burn a candle is on a stable surface like a bedside table or dresser, away from anything that could catch fire. Avoid placing your candle in direct sunlight or near heat sources like radiators or heaters, as this can cause it to melt or burn unevenly.

Set the mood

Before lighting your candle, make sure it's on a flat, heat-resistant surface away from anything flammable. Keep the candle away from curtains, bedding, and any other materials that could catch fire. Keep the candle away from drafts, fans, or open windows as these can cause the flame to flicker or the candle to burn unevenly.

Keep an eye on it

Once you've lit your candle, keep an eye on it. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and make sure the flame is not too large or too close to the edge of the candle. If it is, extinguish it and trim the wick to ¼ inch before lighting it again.
